BioGeometric Integration

BioGeometric Integration, or BGI is the guiding principle in Dr. Parker's chiropractic technique. The BGI philosophy was developed by Dr. Sue Brown, a pioneer in the field of chiropractic care.

Breaking it down, "Bio" means life. It is the forces of life within us that is at the center of BGI. "Geometric" refers to the shapes within our body that lay like a map  to guide the doctor to where stress is stored. It is these deeply rooted stresses, that interfere with the natural flow of energy in our bodies, and manifest themselves in physical ways to cause us pain or other issues which may or may not be physical in nature. "Integration" seeks restore your body's natural balance so there is proper function throughout all the systems of the body.

Our Body's Reaction To Stress

Imagine a sphere in our hands, a rubber ball for instance. When stress is applied to one area by pressing on it, the ball doesn't break, it bends. The stress is distributed to other parts of the ball. But the ball is no longer in its natural state - it's balance has been disrupted.

Your body reacts much in the same way. A stress point somewhere in our body's shape is spread to other parts of the body to help diffuse it. This is a natural physiological reaction, and as such, it's actually a good thing. It allows us to withstand a lot of stress. But if left untreated, if we do not remove that stress, the body's natural energy and vitality cannot be distributed normally throughout the body. And that stress manifests itself as pain and dysfunction because of reduction of this natural flow of energy.

BGI protocols are used to determine where the negative stress has settled in the body. Dr. Parker uses gentle, specific chiropractic adjustments to release tension in the central nervous system and restore your body's natural harmony bringing about healing and relaxation.
